Features:
• Diffuse, poorly defined radiopacity with a “ground-glass” or “orange-peel” appearance
• Causes bony expansion and cortical thinning
• The overlying cortical plates are often intact but expanded
Demographics:
• Usually diagnosed in children and adolescents
• May be monostotic (involving one bone) or polyostotic (involving multiple bones)
Presentation:
• Painless swelling and facial asymmetry in the involved area
• Slow progression, often stabilizes after skeletal maturity
